MVP AOI Systems Upgrades EControls Production

Carlsbad, CA — Machine Vision Products (MVP) has shipped two Supra E automated optical inspec- tion (AOI) systems to EControls, LLC, a leading control and instru- mentation specialist. The sale was facilitated by Torenko & Associates, MVP’s sales partner in the South - west territories of the USA and Mexico. The AOI systems are were operational at EControls’ San An - tonio, Texas facility in February. EControls is using the MVP sys-

tems to get better first pass yields, faster line speeds, less program maintenance and reliable customer support. The Supra E is MVP’s latest

AOI system, and provides complete inspection capabilities ranging from 2-D paste inspection to pre-reflow, post-reflow and post-wave inspection capabilities. It provides real-time feedback of specific manufacturing

process details. The heart of the sys- tem is metrology and, as a result, all data reported is measurement-based as opposed to comparative as in most other systems. The Supra E system provides

fast cycle times by using an unusual feature — flying technology (not start- stop) — and a high-speed image pro- cessing capability. In addition, the company now offers complete inspec- tion program generation capability in less than two hours. These programs are ready to go directly into produc- tion without losing anything — such as solder joint inspection — which can happen with other systems. Contact: Machine Vision

system. The combo system utilizes the same design concept as the new gen- eration Orissa Synchrodex soldering cell and offers the user significantly reduced process time when compared to a single soldering unit with on- board fluxing and pre-heat functions. It also provides a reduced footprint and cost savings over the convention- al three module fluxing, pre-heat and soldering cell.
