Solvent-Resistant Epoxy Preforms Announced by Multi-Seals Inc.
Manchester, CT — Uni-form™ epoxy preforms, manufactured by Multi-
resistance to most industrial solvents and other aggressive chemicals. When fully cured, this highly cross- linked system will withstand com- plete submersion in MEK, Xylene, Acetone, Toulene, and other strong solvents for as long as two months without softening or absorbing sol- vent.
In addition, M5-92 has a high
glass transition temperature of 160°C (320°F), which allows the epoxy seals to withstand subsequent high-temperature manufacturing

CyberOptics Intros New Inspection Systems
Minneapolis, MN — CyberOptics Corp. is introducing its latest inspec- tion systems — the SE500™ 100 per- cent 3-D solder paste inspection sys- tem has the ability to inspect the most demanding assemblies with a >80cm2/second inspection speed without compromising measurement accuracy and repeatability. The new inspection system can inspect pad sizes down to 01005 component size (150 x 150µm) while keeping up with ever-increasing line speeds.
processes such as overmolding or sol- dering. When M5-92 is used early in an assembly process, the highly resistant seal protects components from subsequent manufacturing steps, including soldering operations, solvent baths, and conformal coat- ings. After assembly, the seal contin- ues to protect components in a vari- ety of end-use environments. Like all Uni-forms, M5-92 epoxy
preforms are one-part epoxy resins that are solid at room temperature. When heated, Uni-forms melt and
cure, forming a consistent seal with- out the mix and mess associated with liquid epoxy. Uni-forms are available in a
wide range of shapes, sizes, and materials to accommodate diverse applications, and can be dispensed at rates of 200 to 600 preforms per minute. Contact: Multi-Seals Inc., 540

AOI inspection system. The SE500 product suite consists
of two models to accommodate varying panel sizes. While the SE500 is capa- ble of transporting panels from 50 x 50mm (2 x 2-in.) up to 510 x 510mm (20 x 20-in.), the SE500-X™ can trans- port panels from 100 x 100mm (4 x 4- in.) up to 810 x 610mm (32 x 24-in.). Standard features for both models include: automatic conveyor width adjustment, mechanical board stop, 1- and 2-D multiple barcode read using sensor, and Process Tracker™ SPC charts with alarm capability. Also to be shown, the company’s
QX500™ AOI system provides on- the-fly area-scanning inspection at an incredible 200cm2/sec, setting it apart from other conventional AOI systems. Its dual fixed-angle lighting provides excellent image quality. Contact: CyberOptics Corp.,
