The Heath Debunks Claims There’s a Shortage of Lab Space in the North-West

An Indian pharmaceutical company which operates from over 30 countries around the world has chosen The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn to launch its expansion into the United Kingdom.
Brinton Pharmaceutical Ltd has opened a research and development centre at The Heath as part of a £30m investment in the UK over the next five years to strengthen its products pipeline, create over 300 new skilled jobs and develop more innovative products for global consumers.
The new centre was officially opened by Nigel Huddleston, Minister of State for Business and Trade, who described it as an excellent example of benefits of the trade relationship between the UK and India.
John Lewis MBE, Head of SOG Group which owns and operates the business park, said: “The attendance of the Minister of State underpins the immense importance of Brinton’s arrival in the UK to our business and science sectors. I know Brinton have exciting plans to expand operations here over the next few years, creating hundreds of new skilled jobs. SOG are happy, willing and able to help them achieve their aspirations.”
Mr Lewis added: “Brinton selected The Heath for its UK base, over-and-above other science parks around the UK and across the North of England, because of the facilities, services and support that The Heath offers to emerging and growing businesses in the science and technical sector.”
Brinton is one of a host of new businesses that have moved on to The Heath post-pandemic debunking claims that there is a shortage of science and laboratory space in the North-West.
The Heath currently has around 50,000 sq. ft of vacant space suitable for science and tech companies which is made up of a variety of unit sizes. SOG also has a highly experienced in-house support team that provide scientific businesses such as Brinton with specialist technical support to create bespoke laboratories to customers’ specific requirements.
