A Future-Thinking Business Park with Sustainability at its Heart
Kingsmoor Park Enterprise Zone
Kingmoor Park Enterprise Zone is located just off J44 of the M6 and is home to over 150 businesses, employing some 2,500 people
There has always been a focus on providing an environment where businesses of all sizes can thrive, and recent years have seen significant investment to ensure this is done sustainably to the benefit of all.
Kingmoor Park is privately owned and at the helm is a leadership team dedicated to delivering several sustainability initiatives to help the business park reach its aspiration of being carbon neutral.
The road to carbon neutral
Several initiatives are already underway on the business park such as solar energy generation, electric vehicles, and promoting the local environment and natural habitats that the site is home to, such as the on-site nature reserve.
Today, the business park is home to its very own solar farm which provides 877,000kWh (kilowatt hours) of electricity per annum - equivalent to up to 20% of Kingmoor Park’s energy needs. Data also suggests that the business park has been entirely self-sufficient on several occasions.
Plans are currently underway to expand the size of this existing solar farm, increasing the yield by more than 350% (over 3,000,000 kWh) meaning that up to three quarters of the business park’s energy will be generated on site.

Neil McIntyre, Kingmoor Park’s managing director said. “As a team we are committed to ensuring that all our energy comes from 100% renewable sources to safeguard any future developments and reduce our carbon footprint. There is ample data from the existing solar farm which shows we have substantially reduced the need to rely on power from the national grid and have already saved 700 tonnes of C02.”

Moving forward Kingmoor Park is committed to working with their tenants and other like-minded businesses and investors to develop and deliver further energy saving and environmentally friendly initiatives. This will help with the continued sustainable growth of Kingmoor Park and the businesses that call it home.
Current plans include further introduction of on-site power generation, adding electric vehicle charging points, and replacing the remaining vehicles in their fleet with electric ones all in a bid to further reduce the park’s carbon footprint.

The management team are committed to making changes towards a sustainable future with their long-term goal being to use only renewable energy sources and completion of the existing 4-acre solar farm has already
