Car Test Best SEATS in the house
I
n this issue we review the scintillating SEAT Ibiza. This is a fine looking small five-door vehicle which has evolved over recent generations into a high-performing and very economical car for about town. We particularly enjoyed the new design, with its sloping bonnet, colour-coded bumpers and LED headlights and attractive five-spoke 18" Performance alloy wheels. Climbing aboard, there’s a surprisingly luxurious passenger cabin with all the latest driving technology, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Dual zone climate control and Front Assist to Tiredness Recognition. These intuitive features mean you can relax and enjoy the ride with the Ibiza. The red stitched Alcantara leather seats offer maximum comfort and a subtle sporting edge to the design of the interior, with the comfortable driving position helping you feel in total control.
For a small car, the Ibiza offers plenty of space inside, easily seating 4 people in comfort, while the boot is amongst the biggest in its class. There’s also optional panoramic sunroof and rear parking sensors. This is a car which is dynamic down to the last detail. Out on the open road we found the Ibiza performs extremely well in all driving conditions and is particularly stable in tight cornering. Fuel return is very generous, with 56.5 mpg and there’s maximum of 121 mph, while the turbocharged TSI engine gives you plenty of power whenever its needed. Overall, the Ibiza proved a joy to drive, with the punchy engine, the engaging and precise 6-speed manual gearbox, and the surprising amount of grip when cornering at speed making this car a match for any other small hatchback on the market. Overall, the Ibiza 1.5 TSi is a surprisingly spacious small car and equally comfortable on short trips around town or long- distance journeys. For a well-equipped small hatchback which offers outstanding performance whilst not breaking the bank on fuel, look no further.
We also had the pleasure of testing the Leon 5-door, which has a modern, iconic design for you and all you do in your everyday life. The exterior of the Leon gives it an instant appeal, with the aluminium door sill, the 18” Design alloy wheels and colour -coded bumpers, which all add a flourish of dynamic style to an already sporty car. The Full LED headlights in the Leon are design icons in their own right. It presents a refreshing, modern design, step inside and you are welcomed with quality upholstery, chrome detailing and plenty of space. It also features a newly designed driver-oriented dashboard and an LED illuminated driver console. This ergonomic design gives you easy access to many genuinely

useful features whilst keeping everyone comfortable in the back. We found that the seats are particularly comfortable as the leather has a luxurious quality. Another cool feature to ensure you’re sitting comfortably, is the multi-coloured ambient lighting, with a colour to suit everyone.
The ultimate finishing touch is the leather steering wheel completed with the signature logo. Smart technology in the Leon is highly advanced, including navigation and media system, plus and an 8” infotainment system at your finger types, so planning a journey was simple, along with choosing the music to accompany us. SEAT have focused making the driver’s experience relaxing and it even offers Rain Sensing Wipers and Auto-Headlights and Keyless Entry. Economically we found this car to also be rather impressive, with a 58.9mpg fuel consumption rate in the Combined Cycle, whilst top speed is 141.7mph and 0-62 acceleration is a very sharp 7.9 seconds, giving the Leon real sports pedigree. The Ibiza range starts at £15, 595 on the road whist the Leo is available from £18, 175. For more information or to book a test drive visit
