The East Midlands Loughborough landmark gothic chapel to let

and underfloor heating, up to fifty phone lines and high speed internet capability, fitted carpets and double glazing, interior insulation, plus remotely monitored CCTV and fire and smoke alarms.”

A

unique, gothic revival chapel designed and built in the 1850s and

listed among the finest buildings in Leicestershire is available to let for only the third time in its 160 year history.

Chapel House on Leicester Road, one of the most recognisable buildings in Loughborough, is available for use as offices, or for similar business use, offering a commanding and attractive situation just inside the entrance to the town’s old Victorian cemetery.

Alex Reid, Commercial Property Director of Mather Jamie, said, “Chapel House is a truly special building, a unique Loughborough property, spoken of highly by Pevsner himself: “Its restoration using traditional materials makes it an historic gem with completely modern features, including gas central heating

The 2,347ft premises are set across two floors, including a bridge link and seating area right beneath the chapel’s impressive stone spire, as well as three private offices and general office areas, a boardroom and designer fitted kitchen.

Chapel House is approached by a tarmac driveway leading to a large rear parking area for approximately twenty vehicles, all set within ornamental gated fencing, externally lit by feature lighting and surrounded by open grounds with mature trees.

With great links to the M1 motorway, Loughborough train station and East Midlands Airport, it is the ideal location for a company that is looking to operate from eye-catching premises. Development makes final of infrastructure award

A

well-planned and increasingly popular housing development on the outskirts of Leicester has been named as a finalist for a prestigious construction award.

New Lubbesthorpe, an ambitious urban extension which has been years in the planning, was nominated by East Midlands agents Mather Jamie for the Infrastructure Prize in the 2018 ProCon Leicestershire property and construction awards. The awards are the county’s biggest celebration of the built environment and the people who develop, design and construct winning developments. The Infrastructure Prize, sponsored by Pochin, is one of seven in this year’s ProCon Awards.

Mather Jamie has been working with local authorities and developers on behalf of the landowners, the Drummond family, to help bring the sustainable urban development of New Lubbesthorpe, which once complete will have 4,250 new homes, from concept to reality.

As part of the planning, a new road, including a road bridge spanning the M1, has been built linking Meridian Way to Beggars Lane.

Steelwork goes up at £14m development S

teelwork has been erected as the construction of a £14million industrial/warehouse development in Northamptonshire continues to make good progress. Main contractor MCS Group has been appointed by St Francis Group in joint venture with the Richardson family to deliver five units totalling 270,000 sq ft at Cransley Park, Kettering. Construction started on site in May.

MCS Group managing director Keir Edmonds said: “Cransley Park, which is adjacent to the A14, is in a prime location for business. On behalf of St Francis Group, we’re delivering high quality units of up to 100,000 sq ft which will cater for a range of occupier requirements, within a landscaped environment.”

Rutland County “R

utland may be England’s smallest county, but its local authority has some big ideas when it comes to innovative

commercial investment. In 2012, Rutland County Council acquired HMP Ashwell, a 10 hectare former prison, which they transformed into Oakham Enterprise Park now successfully supporting over 100 business tenants. Their latest project is The King Centre, a former college providing 12,000 sqft of serviced office accommodation with an on-site café. The facility opened in February and is already approaching capacity with a mix of business tenants mostly from the technology sector.
