RECENT GREENLIGHTS


Paramount + unscripted commissions Paramount+ has announced its first unscripted original UK series. Story Films, 72 Films, Top Hat, Vice Studios and Curve media have all won commissions. Story Films in association with All3Media International is making Haunted (w/t). The Executive Producers for Story Films are Peter Beard and Adam Hopkins, the Series Producer is Laura Matthews. The series was ordered by Daniel Pearl, Vice President, Unscripted UK Originals for Paramount+ UK. Rise of the Tech Titans (w/t) is produced by 72 Films, in association with All3Media International and Night Train Media. The series will tell the story of the rise of Big Tech and the “handful of young upstarts who created the modern world.” .Executive Producers for 72 Films are Mark Raphael, John Douglas and Annabel Hobley, whilst both Katie Hindley and Gagan Rehill are Series Producers, and will also Direct. The Box (w/t), produced by Top Hat Productions, in association with All3Media International and Night Train Media, follows Police Detective Chris Loudon’s mission to expose the truth behind one of America’s worst serial killers. Darren Kemp is Executive Producer for Top Hat Productions, whilst Robin Dashwood is the Series Director, and Sarah Foudy is the Series Producer. MH370: The Lost Flight (w/t) produced by VICE Studios is an investigative documentary that will uncover new evidence surrounding the disappearance of Malaysian flight MH370 in 2014. Neil Grant is Executive Producer with Steve Webb serving as Series Producer and Director with Yonni Usiskin serving as co- Executive Producer for VICE Studios. Chalet Girls (w/t) is produced by Curve Media. The 8×60” series will take a look inside the world of luxury ski resorts. Executive Producers for Curve Media are Charlie Bunce, Camilla Lewis and Rob Carey.


Jesse Jackson doc Expanded Media and Lawrence Elman and Nick Fraser of Docsville Studios are to make a new film about the life of Reverend Jesse Jackson. The co-production, destined for release as both a theatrical feature and a limited series, will be directed by Shola Lynch. The untitled project is a co-production between Expanded Media and Docsville Studios. Sex Actually - Channel 4 Channel 4 has ordered a new three-part series of Mindhouse’s Sex Actually with presenter Alice Levine. The second series of Sex Actually with Alice Levine is a 3×60’ produced by Mindhouse Productions. It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Anna Miralis.


Kingdom - BBC1 BBC Studios Natural History Unit is to make new landmark series, Kingdom, a 6×60’ series for BBC One filmed in one location over four years. It was commissioned by Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning, Science and Natural History. The Executive Producer is Mike Gunton, the Series Editor is Simon Blakeney and the Series Producer is Felicity Lanchester. It will TX in 2025.


Falklands: The Frontline Story - BBC2 Falklands: The Frontline Story (working title) from The Garden, marks the fortieth


anniversary of the Falklands War. The 90-minute film was commissioned by Clare Sillery, Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, History and Religion. It is produced by The Garden, part of ITV Studios, where the Executive Producer is Zac Beattie. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Hamish Fergusson.


Trouble at Top Shop - BBC2 The documentary series tells the story of an iconic high street brand, its rise to global dominance and its fall from the dizzy heights of success. It was commissioned by Clare Sillery, Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, History and Religion and is being made by Voltage TV Productions. The Executive Producers are Jo Abel and Sanjay Singhal and the Director is Kate Scholefield. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Emma Loach.


Once Upon a Time in Belfast - BBC2 Led by director James Bluemel, the team behind Once Upon a Time in Iraq returns with a new four part series telling the human stories behind the decades-long conflict in Northern Ireland. It was commissioned by Clare Sillery, and Eddie Doyle, Head of Content Commissioning, BBC Northern Ireland. It will be co-produced by Keo Films and Walk on Air Films. The Executive Producers are Will Anderson and Andrew Palmer and the Series Producers are Vicky Mitchell and Rachel Hooper.


The AIDS Tapes - BBC2 The story of the AIDS crisis told through interviews recorded at the time with those living at the heart of the unfolding epidemic. The AIDS Tapes is produced by Wall to Wall West, in partnership with The Open University. It was commissioned by Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning Science and Natural History. The Executive Producer is Leanne Klein, Series Producer Morgana Pugh and Series Director Mark Henderson.
