A very obvious highlight for this year’s number one company, Riff Raff, was its follow up to the critically lauded Festive spot for Burberry, Open Spaces. The ad, that gained the highest vote in this year’s survey was directed by the most voted for directing team in the survey too, Megaforce. “It felt like we built on the previous work, creating another disruptive film that helped

Burberry position themselves away from the usual fashion houses,” says Riff Raff. ”Writing the creative within Riff Raff and dealing as the agency was very satisfying.” Riff Raff says the climate is “still buoyant. It still feels as though the long term strategy of investing in talent who only engage with projects we are stimulated by, rather than money, sets the company up to work best in a creative market even when finance is tight.” The key now, says Riff Raff, is to continue positive changes in the industry over the last couple of years, with a focus on “mental health and physical work practices and thinking less about money will make us better at doing our jobs.”
