n.b. despite the recent merger of The Mill and MPC’s advertising arm, we have kept them distinct in the Post House vote this year as the votes are made in Jan/Feb and are for the past twelve months. BEST POST HOUSES W
e ask commercials producers two questions about post houses in our annual survey.
Who do you rate most highly and who do you use the most? This year, it’s Electric Theatre Collective that comes out on top in both of those top tens. Commercials producers says of
ETC that it “always goes the extra mile and is a great collaborator on any project” and that the post house has a “boutique approach to solving big ideas with good people and energy.” Other producer voters say they “love working with them and trust them with all our projects,” saying that ETC “feel like family – great service, great online and colour. Very solid.” Black Kite takes second position
on both lists with commercials producers saying Black Kite is “the absolute best for creative support and smarts. We partner with them exclusively.” Others say that Black Kite has “brilliant working relationships
with directors and clients alike” and is “very good value for money” and is “talented and accommodating with a real understanding of how to make challenging budgets work. More ‘Can Do’ than a lot of the other big post houses.” Time Based Arts is the third
highest rated post house this year for its “exceptional talent, and an output that goes beyond the typical post- house work.” It’s also admired for its “meticulous craft and care” and for being “always able to accommodate long lists of deliverables” with a “strong roster of colourists.” Framestore is the fourth most
rated post house because of its “great creature vfx and superb grading” and because it “makes top tier work. Still.” The Mill is fifth highest rated
and the third most used outfit with producers rating its “expert professionalism and eye for detail” and because there’s “nothing they cannot do.”

U
