irst place in our poll of commercials producers’ favourite directors, and by
quite some margin, is Riff Raff’s Megaforce. The directing collective followed up its stunning Festive ad for Burberry with the breathtaking beauty of Open Spaces for the same brand. Commercials producers say Megaforce is “at the top of the game, making work others are envious of. Even on post heavy work they bring a humanity to their work.” The directing collective is described as “consistently incredible” “consistently brilliant” with producers saying Megaforce “can turn their hand to most things and add something special to everything they do” and “never fail to surprise and amaze in
their craft.” In at second is Ian Pons Jewell, now working under his own production company banner. He’s picked out for his “consistently amazing work” and because he “stretches himself continually” and is “working independently and still smashing it.” Somesuch’s Kim Gehrig takes third
place this year for “her ability to turn her hand to anything she touches and create magic” and for “consistently giving it in every way, proving that empathy and compassion can still remain a core of incredible work.” And a word for Rattling Stick founder Ringan Ledwidge, placed seventh in this year’s poll and a director who has never dropped out of it year after year - “incredibly sad to lose such a legend.”
