The well-established Polokwane Pets &
Hobbies store, owned by Andrew Fraser, has opened at Meropa to care for the birds and reptiles, which include both local and international species such as Rosy-faced and Fischer’s lovebirds, common parakeet, kakariki, bobwhite quail, Zebra doves and finches, Indian ring necks, red-and-green macaw and even adorable lemurs and the smallest fox, the Fennec. For those who enjoy admiring reptiles, there are yellow anaconda, Honduran milk snake, Eastern Chain Kingsnake, red-tailed boa, various types of pythons and Butterfly lizards. Wild Thingz is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am until 5pm, and offers daily snake shows and guided tours.
