appy New Year. Here’s to a wonderful 2024 of good health and good times. Don’t we all need it? Life has become exhausting for many
people. Their angst is exactly why being part
of gaming, and coin-op amusements for years before that, makes me feel so good. Our collective purpose is to entertain and make people happy… that’s it. More than 700,000 U.S. casino employees currently
work to ensure people entering a casino property nationwide enjoy a memorable recreational experience. Not many other businesses can claim that as their ultimate goal. January often motivates people to reflect on new
beginnings and improve their lives by making New Year’s resolutions. Some of us actually carry through on them for a while. January 1 also introduces many new laws. Florida
residents and visitors had the bonus of not waiting until New Year’s Day to enjoy the Seminole Tribe’s newly expanded statewide casino game offerings. Following a 2018 voter approval and a gaming compact,
signed by the Tribe and Florida’s state government in 2021, preparations moved quickly. Thanks to the legal “blessings” of the State of Florida, the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Department of Justice, they enjoyed a December 2023 debut. The star-studded promotions and partying over a
three-day rollout ushered in what the Seminoles called “A New Era in Florida Gaming.” Ads featured ultra-glamorous
