a gran noticia de la región ha sido la promulgación del reglamento de apuestas deportivas firmado por el presidente Lula casi como regalo de Ano Nuevo para la gran nación brasileña, y publicada oficialmente el 30 de diciembre. Como se anticipaba, la Cámara de Diputados incluyo el juego online
en las normas, que había sido desechado por el pleno del Senado, y el mandatario brasileño puso su rúbrica sellando la gran oportunidad de juego y apuestas online reglamentadas en el país. Un reporte completo sobre la nueva legislación brasileña para la industria la publicamos en la primera edición de Casino International Americano en 2024. Para no quedarse atrás, en Argentina, la Cámara de Diputados de la Provincia de Santa Fe aprobó el Proyecto de Ley 52665, a mediados de diciembre, por el cual se regula el desarrollo y la explotación de la actividad de juegos de azar y de apuestas deportivas online, y enviado al Senado para su debate. El juego online ya funciona en la provincia en 3 casinos, que en su momento fueron habilitados con un decreto del exgobernador Omar Perotti, como consecuencia de las restricciones sanitarias de apertura de locales contra la pandemia del Covid. Por otro lado, en Bolivia, Marco Antonio Sánchez fue designado como nuevo Director de la Autoridad de Fiscalización del Juego, en un acto realizado en Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas Publicas, donde su titular recomendó que se mantenga la continuidad en el trabajo realizado en cuanto a las fiscalizaciones para preservar los derechos de la población. Pero como todo tiene su momento malo, en México, las empresas operadoras de casinos – salas de números con sorteo, o algo así por el eufemismo regulatorio de no querer llamar casino al casino – han recurrido al poder judicial contra el decreto presidencial que limita el permiso operativo a 15 años. Mas de esto, líneas abajo. Y así, llegamos al ultimo Show de Londres, en el mes que se viene, cuando ICE 2024 sea otra de las victimas del desgraciado Brexit, donde hacen nos tres años, la mano negra de la comunicación social hizo desleal campana contra la permanencia del Reino Unido dentro de la Unión Europea, y a partir de 2025, el ICE se muda a Barcelona. Mientras tanto, estaremos poniendo todo en este último London Showdown para que sea memorable. ¡Alla nos vemos!

he really big news in the region has been the enactment of sports betting regulations, signed by President Lula almost as a New Year’s gift to the great Brazilian nation, and officially published on December 30. As anticipated, the House of Representatives reinserted online gambling in the
text, as this had been rejected by the Senate, and the Brazilian president gladly put his signature and sealed the great opportunity of regulated online gambling and sports betting in the country. A full report on the new Brazilian legislation for the industry is published in the first 2024 edition of Casino International Americano. Not to be outdone, in Argentina the House of Representatives of Santa Fe Province approved Bill 52665 in mid-December, regulating the development and exploitation of online gambling and sports betting, sending the bill to the Senate for debate. Online gambling already operates in the province in 3 land-based casinos, which at the time were enabled by Governor decree as a result of the health restrictions on the opening of the casino premises during the Covid pandemic.
Just over the northern border, in Bolivia, Marco Antonio Sánchez was named new chief of regulators, Autoridad del Juego, at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance, where its head recommended that continuity be maintained in the work carried out in terms of inspections to preserve and protect the population. But as everything also has its bad moments, in Mexico the casino operating companies – euphemistically called lottery number rooms, or something similar, owing to regulations that refuse to call them casinos – have appealed to the judiciary against the presidential decree that limits operating permits to 15 years. More on this in an article below. And so, we come to the last London Show, next month. ICE 2024 will be another of the victims of hapless Brexit, where three years ago the black hand of social media carried out all sorts of campaigns with total mendacity against the permanence of the United Kingdom within the European Union. From 2025 ICE moves to Barcelona. In the meantime, we’ll be putting everything into making this latest London Showdown memorable. See you all there!
