I’d say “Happy New Year” but that particular event in the calendar probably already seems too far back as to warrant a mention. Time fl ies in this industry, especially at this time of year. It feels like only last week I was trying to wrap things up to prepare for the Christmas and New Year break, and now I’m in full fl ap trying to deal with the huge amount of material coming my way ahead of ICE 2024. We’re off to ExCel for the last time before thoughts turn to Barcelona, and though that’s more than a year away, I’m confi dent before I know it, we’ll all be one year older and I’ll be writing a Barcelona-related intro wondering what happened to the last 12 months. Again. So (unsurprisingly) you’ll fi nd a large ICE 2024 preview propping up this issue, along with solid contributions from all the usual expert suspects. Two particular features to direct you to come in the form of our
cover stars, Interblock, who share more details on their innovative ‘Smart Pit’. This not only aims to transform Live Table Gaming but is also hoping to walk away with an award (or two!) at the forthcoming European Casino Awards. The second special feature this issue is an in-depth interview with Advantech-Innocore’s Managing Director, Edward Price, who looks back on the successes of 2023 and plots the year ahead for us.
And with that I must leave you. I have to write the intro for the next issue in about fi ve minutes (well… that’s how it feels!) and there are still a few bars of Xmas chocolate hanging about the house with my name written on them. Literally.
