Toy Fair New York keeps safety top of mind as preparations move forward for 2022 show

With the largest toy show in the Western Hemisphere right around the corner, the U.S. Toy Association is focused on offering the global play community a safe environment to connect, engage, and learn at Toy Fair New York 2022

“After a nearly two year-long hiatus brought on by the pandemic, we are eager to bring the industry back together and supply attendees with everything they need to tap into the $32 billion U.S domestic toy market − while maintaining a safe environment to do so,” said Kimberly Carcone, senior vice president of global market events at The Toy Association, producer of Toy Fair New York. “The show will place an emphasis on innovation and moving businesses forward, but our number one priority remains the health, safety, and security of all Toy Fair participants.” For us that means Toy Fair is and

will remain a vaccination-only event, and we will continue to adhere to all state and local guidelines and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for masking and other safety protocols. Bill Nye “The Science Guy” will help kick off the four full days of excitement on Saturday, February 19 at 9 a.m. at the show’s opening ribbon-

cutting ceremony and costumed character parade, and with Nye and other celebrities on track to attend it speaks to Toy Fair’s continually growing status as much more than a toy show but also a global pop culture and entertainment destination. Thanks to a newly renovated and expanded Javits Center, the 2022 show will offer show-goers new and unique opportunities well beyond their meetings with the hundreds of exhibiting toy companies. The addition of 4,175+ net square meters of exhibit space creates opportunities for more educational programming and more networking opportunities. In partnership with The Virtual Events Group’s Robin Raskin, The Toy Association will invite the play

of sessions and interactive kiosks. Located in the Theatre on Three, visitors will be able to sit in on sessions that examine the emerging space of interconnected virtual communities. From how influencers, virtual showrooms, and augmented and virtual reality can help extend brands into the digital world to how brands can build NFT strategies, sessions will cover a range of metaverse-related topics. Other new activities open to all Toy Fair participants include a keynote address from Trend Hunter CEO Jeremy Gutsche and the “Brands Untapped @ Toy Fair” experience, developed in partnership with Mojo Nation, which will showcase various creative collaborations between toy companies and high-profile brands from other industries. The show also marks the return of tried-and-true, must-attend events such as The Toy Association’s annual Toy Trends Briefing. The briefing has drawn hundreds of media, retailers, and marketers in years past and pulls product straight from the show floor to demonstrate the trends predicted to dominate toy aisles in 2022. The Creative Factor educational series returns, tying on- trend topics to issues impacting the global inventor and designer community, and the second annual Student Congress Day will invite university-level students to network with industry experts, experience a hands- on creative workshop, and visit exhibitor booths on the show floor. Attendees can refer to ToyFairNY.com for the full lineup of Toy Fair speakers and programming, with updates being made regularly leading up to the show. As The Toy Association continues

to monitor the ongoing impact of the global pandemic and actively work with government and venue officials to maintain health & safety standards, guests are encouraged to also turn to ToyFairNY.com to stay up to date on the latest details about vaccination requirements, registration, exhibitors, hotel bookings, and more. Toy Fair New York is produced by The

Toy Association, Inc.™ – the not-for-profit trade association representing all businesses involved in creating and bringing toys and youth entertainment products to kids of all ages.
