Acamar Films, producers of the award-winning pre-school show Bing, along with Brown Bag Films, are heading into Toy Fair 2022 with a lot to celebrate
Toy renewals for Bing have been signed across the board in recent months, with partners looking to extend their ranges further and continue capturing the hearts and minds of Bingsters in 2022 and beyond. Master Toy licensee Golden Bear announced the four-year extension of their Bing contract in October 2021, following the success of their range which launched in AW19. Bing has firmly become Golden Bear’s number one global license and, in the UK, has seen an impressive 110% sales uplift between 2019 and 2021 and a 52% increase in retailer stocking points heading into Christmas 2021, compared to the previous year. The pan-European partnership aims to
deliver a multi-year product strategy to steadily expand the Bing toy lines. In 2021 the range expanded across feature plush, playsets and most recently, bath toys. The further development of additional characters and locations in 2022 will grow Bing’s world and ensure the longevity of the range. Barry Hughes, Managing Director at
Golden Bear, said of the news, “I am very proud of what our team and distribution partners have achieved with Bing over the last three years. We are so excited about what the next few years hold for Bing in both current and new territories.” Wooden toy partner 8th Wonder launched
their wonderful Bing range in SS20 with eleven classic lines, which included puzzles, shape sorters and pull-along stacking toys. An additional six lines were added in 2021, building out the range. 8th Wonder secured new retailers for AW21, including Argos and Asda, and are set to further increase their retail footprint in the year ahead. “8th Wonder are delighted to have
extended our partnership with Acamar Films and the fabulous Bing brand,” said Andrea Gornall, Senior Product & Business Development Manager at 8th Wonder, “the whole team are looking forward to developing new and exciting products as we move into 2022.” Ravensburger has been a long-term partner of Acamar Films, producing Bing puzzles since 2014. Their colourful multi-sets and giant floor puzzles, featuring scenes from the TV show, make ideal first puzzles for Bingsters. Tim Hall, Managing Director at Ravensburger said, “Bing is an adorable property that has an enormous audience and the artwork is perfect for our puzzles and games.”
MV Sports launched Bing’s wheeled toys
into the UK market in AW20 with Aldi, Very and B&M selecting from the launch range of bikes and scooters. The range has since expanded into ride-ons and trikes and has seen exciting new business from Halfords, Argos, Wilko and Studio in 2021. New partner, children’s audio system,
tonies®, are set to launch a Bing figurine in 2022, which, when paired with a Toniebox, will deliver exciting audio entertainment to delight young children. Liz Peters, Portfolio Manager at tonies® UK, said, “We love that Bing finds the big stories in the little moments and are sure that Bingsters and Tonie-fans alike are going to love this addition to our stellar roster.” Louise Simmonds, Head of UK Licensing
