Builder Depot Ltd was founded in 2001. It now has four warehouse based London branches, strategically located along the North Circular between North to West London.
The flagship branch, New Southgate, located in N11, London, holds over 1 million meters of timber.

Robert Beatson & Son (Builders) Limited was incorporated in 1966. In 1984 the company was purchased by the Marshall family and the name changed to Beatson’s Building Supplies Limited.

In 1990 the company moved a few miles to a larger facility in Alloa, which is now a large general builders merchant branch and the Head Office.
In 1998 Beatsons opened its second branch based in Cumbernauld, to serve North & South Lanarkshire, East Dumbartsonshire and Glasgow. These were followed by Penicuik, Mid in 2006 and Dunfermline in 2007. In 2011, the company opened a specialist roofing division Skyline Roofing, and two years later, its fifth branch in Stirling. This moved to larger premises during 2019.

Browns has been in Derby in some shape or form for over a 100 years. Its Nottingham road depot is on the original site of the old Browns Foundry. In its current form, Browns
Builders Merchants has been a family run, independent company supplying building materials to the Trade and public since 1990.
