Cairngorm Capital buys Bromborough Partners


Bromborough Paint & Building Supplies, the North West independent decorators merchant, has sold to specialist private investment firm Cairngorm Capital Partners LLP


Neville Wellings’, Bromborough’s owner, is retiring, but the rest of the management team remains, led by Giuseppe Alfonso (finance director), John Ferrington (operations director) and Dan Peacock (commercial director). Jon Gatfield, joins as Chairman. Wellings, said, “Bromborough has been a family enterprise since my father, Harry Wellings, founded it over 70 years ago. My priority was to find a partner who would be a good custodian of Bromborough in the future,”


Keyline opens in Kirkby


Keyline Civils


Specialist, has opened its newly refurbished branch in Kirkby- in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Keyline’s two and a half acre site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield holds over £500,000 in stock and has eight permanent team members. The Kirkby branch is set to support a growing number of customers with an extensive range of civils and drainage products. Branch manager, Arron Jameson comments: “It’s an exciting time and opportunity for Keyline to reopen our Kirkby branch and I am proud to be leading such an enthusiastic and experienced team, as we help to satisfy the demand for specialist civils products in our region.”

Independent builders merchant buying group, National Buying Group has added three new partners.


Sovini Trade Supplies is a North West-based builders merchant, which recently opened a 2.4-acre flagship store and distribution centre in Bootle, Merseyside, on top of its three existing regional branches. Also joining the group is Buildland, a family-owned builders merchant with a branch in Redditch, and one in Coventry. Over in Wales, Towy Works, a specialist builders merchant based in Carmarthen, is also joining NBG. Towy has been in business since 1795, supplying a wide range of products across South Wales, from its two-floor showroom and builders yard.


Alan Evans, regional operations manager at STS, said: “Joining


helping us prioritise and guiding us through our first few weeks.” Satty Jutla, director at Buildland said: “It feels amazing to join NBG and we are excited to start meeting our fellow Partners and Suppliers. It is also reassuring to know we can share best practice with everyone at the NBG family.”

West Building Supplies relocates to celebrate 50th year in business


Independent builders merchant West Building Supplies has relocated its Head Office operation to new premises in Bridlington, next to its existing 80,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution centre. The relocation reflects the company’s growth over the last couple of years which includes a 1.5 acre new build depot in Scarborough.


The company, a member of the H&B buying group, has 53 members of staff and nine delivery


vehicles covering the East and North Yorkshire coast from three depots. Managing director Sean Boyd says: “The new depot brings the best of our builders merchant stock range together under one roof and incorporates a brand new state of the art Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom and decorative lighting showroom and design centre. It’s a massive bonus that the new facility is next to our unique indoor landscape centre and warehousing which increases our ability to give


the best customer service possible.“ The company plans further growth and development in 2021.
