3. Norton introduces RazorStar Belts and Fibre Discs Norton has introduced its latest addition to its portfolio RazorStar Belts and Fibre Discs.
Its RazorStar abrasive belts and fibre discs redefine metal grinding, preparation, bevelling, and deburring applications across various industries including construction.
The grain’s unique shape consists of two linear regions joining to form razor-sharp tips. Each grain fractures into similar sharp profiles during grinding to consistently produce uniform shapes, which ensures a high initial cut and continued performance throughout. RazorStar belts cut faster and remove more material, reducing machine time and energy consumption by up to 20% on stainless steel and 34% on carbon steel. This contributes to the belt’s durability and long life in high-pressure grinding applications, reducing belt waste by up to 57% on stainless steel and up to 74% on carbon steel.

1. Stelrad adds compact 900mm high radiators to other series
Stelrad first launched its range of 900mm high radiators in a variety of widths in quarter 2 2023. As a result of the popularity of these new 900mm high radiators, Stelrad has announced that it has added the models to its Vita, Softline and Henrad ranges in the Stelrad Group portfolio as well from Q1 2024.
The updated Building Regulations state that heating appliances and radiators should not been oversized, TRVs need to be fitted to every room, unless there is a thermostat fitted. The 900mm high range offers a useful alternative size radiator for installers looking to meet the new requirements.
It said there is a clear need for larger size radiators to cope with the lower circulating system temperatures generated by renewable heating systems and we are making sure its installer and specifier customers have access to the options they will need in the months ahead.

2. Makita unveils its DCU602 four-wheeled battery-powered wheelbarrow
Makita has unveiled its DCU602 wheelbarrow. Powered by two 18V LXT Li-Ion batteries in series, up to four can be used for a longer runtime of up to 100 minutes. The model is equipped with a dump bucket which can be operated electronically or manually. Easily controlled, the wheelbarrow has three forward speeds – 1.5, 3.5 and 5 km/h – and one reverse; and is equipped with electric and electromagnetic brakes on top of a hand lever operated mechanical brake.

Compared to petrol-powered alternatives, the DCU602 offers equivalent power – without the exhaust fumes and CO2 emissions – and is also silent running. The wheelbarrows brushless motor is long- life and maintenance free and is fitted with a battery protection circuit which protects against overloading, over-discharging and over-heating.
