IBC FOCUS: Exhibition Review Siniat
Drywall product and system manufacturer Siniat, part of the Etex brand, supplies plasterboard and performance boards for many different applications. The striking Siniat stand displayed information on a number of these different products, as well as enabling visitors to take part in an interactive game where they could build a tower out of plasterboard. The company has recently invested around £200m in a sustainable factory to boost its plasterboard manufacturing capacity. Featuring renewable energy including solar and electric systems, the factory will be ready to distribute plasterboard in Q4 of this year. Simon Gambrill, national account manager, said: “We’ve been an IBC Supplier Partner for more than nine years and have a great relationship with the divisional managers, as well as with [CEO] Vick Patel and [commercial director] Paul Read.”

Pallet Loop
Pallet Loop is the only circular economy pallet supplier to the UK construction sector. The company is working to tackle the issue of single-use wooden pallets being discarded on building sites or thrown in skips as part of the zero-carbon transformation of the construction industry.
Every year more than 20 million pallets are manufactured and distributed throughout the UK construction industry, but less than 10% are reused. The Pallet Loop is a returnable pallet scheme that offers a greener and more sustainable way to transport building materials, using ‘green’ pallets that are collected and re-used once they have completed their initial delivery to site. Director of business development Andy Williamson explained: “The Pallet Loop has created a new model where we will come and collect our green pallets from site for free once they are no longer needed so they can be put back into the supply chain and used again.
“Plus, we can also collect and dispose of any single-use pallets that the merchant or builder also wants to get rid of, charging less for collection than it currently costs to dispose of a single-use pallet in a skip. This offers merchants a big saving both in terms of money and time, and also helps them fulfil their corporate social responsibility requirements.”

Crown Paints
Crown Paints was on hand at the Exhibition with a colourful display of the company’s paint and woodcare products. The stand was created to show an ideal paint stock portfolio for a typical independent builders’ merchant, featuring well-known trade brands including Crown, Sadolin and Sandtex. There were matt, gloss and satin paints, plus wood and metal paints, primers and undercoats. And, of course, pride of place

on the stand was given to the company’s Contract Matt white paint.
