Juicehead Smoothies & Coffee & Eats

People who would like to grab something healthy in the morning when they are on-the-go may find that Juicehead Smoothies & Coffee & Eats at 211 South Bridge St., in downtown Yorkville is their place to go. “Usually when people are in a hurry in the morning and they grab something, it’s not always healthy,” says Megan Diaz, who opened the Yorkville Juicehead in May 2021 and one in Plainfield in October of 2020 with her sister, Lauren Imbo. “We wanted to offer people options so that they can grab something healthy,” Diaz says. “I always wanted to do a breakfast-type place that was quick, but healthier than other options out there. Juicehead was just a name we thought of, an ironic option. We wanted to put a positive meaning to the word itself.”

When they decided to open their second

restaurant, Diaz and Imbo chose the Yorkville location because their brother-in-law Ralph and sister Jessica own the nearby Crusade Burger Bar. “So we were familiar with the area,” Diaz

says.

Teir menu includes fresh smoothies, coffee, raw juices, bagels and oatmeal. Diaz says they will be starting their own fresh, raw juice program instead of purchasing juices, and are working on a lunch menu that will include salads and wraps. “We are going to do some different veggie wraps,

some with protein in them,” Diaz says. “Tey will be pre- packaged so it will be a good grab and go kind of thing. Possibly some soups as well. We want to make sure we can get some good quality products here.”

Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sat. & Sun. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Orders can be made on the website at juiceheadsmoothies. com. Call 630-882-9345.

Sisters Megan Diaz, left, and Lauren Imbo, owners of the new Juicehead Smoothies, in downtown Yorkville, make a juice moothie and an iced coffee for patrons. Diaz says her favorite Smoothis is called Dream On, a cremesicle- inspired drink with whey protein added.
