FRET-Fox River’s Edge Teatre Has a New Life Yorkville’s Performing Arts Center (YPAC), which
has a studio at 222 S. Bridge St. and also a facility at 2161 Rt. 47, last March added a new location -- the Fox River’s Edge Teater, 217 S. Bridge St. “Obviously, having any kind of theater has been a
dream of mine and my husband Brian,” said Emily Weber, YPAC owner. “When the opportunity came to us, we jumped on it and said yes. Having a true professional light and sound stage is a dream, a first step. We took it over in the spring of 2021, bought a table and chairs. Cosmetic things. But otherwise, we haven’t had to change anything.” Because the theater only seats 75 people in the the
audience, YPAC will not be able to use it as its main theater for large productions, but it will be convenient for many other uses, Weber said. Tose uses so far have included a showcase performance in June 2021 for students and their parents, a ribbon cutting in November, leadership trainings, student performances, and musical recitals, including one in April 2022. worship nights held at 7 p.m. on Tursdays, and also are booking the space for family reunions, birthday parties, and wedding events. “Anything you can imagine,” she added.
