BEAMING OUT IN ALL WEATHERS Hiltron
BY ADRIAN PENNINGTON
A new de-icing sensor and heating controller for use with small- to medium-sized antennas has been unveiled at IBC. The HDCU2 from Hiltron provides IP66 protection against heavy rain or snow. The unit incorporates an ambient Pt100 temperature sensor, an optional reflector and a snow precipitation sensor. Contained within a 180x180x90mm weatherproof housing, it is rated for operation in -30° to +50°C temperature environments at 5%-95% non-condensing humidity. Up to three 2.9kW heating
circuits in three-phase 400v AC configuration can be controlled. The HDCU2 can also be configured for single-phase 230v AC operation where the combined output load for all three power feeds does not exceed 2.9kW. Load control can be performed
first lithium battery-powered on-camera flash, the Ving V850, and the AD360 equipped with a power pack, which makes the photography process faster with greater portability.
