CELEBRATING CO-OPERATION AND COLLABORATION AT THE SOCIAL IMPACT AND INNOVATION AWARDS
This evening sees the winners of this year’s IBC Social Impact and Innovation Awards revealed at two separate presentations. The Social Impact Awards take place at 16:30 in the Forum. Winners across three categories – Social Impact, Environment and Sustainability, and Diversity and Inclusion – will be announced. The winners will also take part in a brief fi reside chat, to talk about the highlights of their project. As part of the presentation, a Special Award will also be presented to Women in Streaming Media in recognition of its Mentorship Program which, over fi ve years, has played its part in the appointment of six board director seats and 11 C-suite roles, among 45 promotions and placements.
The Innovation Awards will follow at 18:00 in the Premier Lounge
Recognising excellence across the industry at the IBC awards
where the winner of three awards, for excellence in Content Creation, Content Distribution and Content Everywhere, will be announced. IBC will also present a Special Award to the German DVB-I Pilot
project. This initiative has brought together multiple stakeholders from the German media industry, including broadcasters, device manufacturers, software providers and research institutions.
The pilot began during IBC2022 and completed Phase 1 in March 2023, with the emergence of a common view of the technical functions (proof of concept) of the standard. There will also be a presentation for the Best Technical Paper for IBC2023, which goes to a team from the BBC, University of Strathclyde and Neutral Wireless for their work on deploying a 5G standalone non-public network at the coronation of HM King Charles III in May. This year’s International Honour for Excellence will also be presented at the Innovation Awards.
