foot respectively. Both 5-by-10 and 10-by-20 bounced back to the same rate per square foot as Q3 2016.
Except for 10-by-20 climate-controlled units, which in-
creased by four cents per square foot over Q3 2016 rates, all other unit sizes showed a decrease in price. The biggest difference was for 5-by-5 units, which were seven cents per square foot less than in Q3 2016. A two-cent per square foot difference was seen for 10-by-15 units—the smallest differ- ence reported for climate-controlled units.
In the New England subregion of the Northeast, all unit
sizes for June of 2017 were slightly less than those reported in July of 2016. Only a 30-cent drop was seen for 10-by-20 climate-controlled units, with 10-by-10 units showing a $1 difference, followed by 5-by-5s with a difference of $1.50. The largest disparity was for 10-by-15 units, which came in at $6.40 less than rates for July of 2017. A $5 difference was seen for 5-by-10 units.
For non-climate-controlled units, 10-by-15s also showed the highest drop between July of 2016 and June of 2017 at $13.70. While 10-by-10s only showed a $1 difference for climate-controlled units, there was a $11.80 dip for those without this climatized feature. The 10-by-20-unit prices
came back to within 90 cents of June 2016 rates—the lowest difference for New England. The 5-by-5-unit price came back to within $5.80 of the July 2016 rate, while 5-by-10s showed a decline of $3.80 for the same period.
In the New England subregion of the Northeast, all unit sizes for June of 2017 were slightly less than those reported in July of 2016.
On a price per square foot basis, as seen in Tables 8.17 and
8.18, both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled 10-by-20 units showed only a three-cent increase in Q2 2017 pricing over Q3 2016. Conversely, 10-by-15 non-climate- controlled units saw a dip of three cents for the same time period.
The most significant price per square foot difference
between Q3 2016 and Q2 2017 was seen for non-climate- controlled 5-by-5 units (12 cents). On the nominal side of
