WANTAGE TAXI DRIVER SUBJECTED TO VICIOUS ASSAULT An attack on an

Oxfordshire taxi driver has left him with lasting injuries. More than a week after Mohammed Rahman was as- saulted his battered face was still swollen and covered in dark purple-blue bruises. On March 18 the 52- year-old from Wan- tage picked up three women at about 2.15am from the town’s cab station. He dropped off two of the passengers and noticed that the third woman was acting ‘suspiciously’. As soon as he parked at Ginge

About 15 minutes later the cabbie woke up dizzy and in pain – his face flat on the driveway - with his mouth and eyebrows severely bleeding. He called the police but when the two officers got out of their vehicle the man who as- saulted Mr Rahman came out of the
house angrily ques- tioning why they were there. Mr Rahman told the officers that this was the man who had punched him, how- ever, he says they did not question or arrest him. The taxi driver was then driven to hos- pital where he was given 14 stitches for
his bloodied lip. Mr Rahman said: “I was very disap- pointed with the police because I was seriously injured outside this person’s house but they did not ask him about this incident. “Instead, they asked me to give a state- ment on the way to hospital but I was in
too much pain.” The man said he has called the police several times to give a statement but that nobody has given him a call back. A police spokesper- son confirmed that the incident is being investigated, howev- er they said no arrests have been made.
ARMED ROBBERS THREATEN TAXI DRIVER WITH MACHETE IN SWINDON
Armed robbers threatened a terri- fied taxi driver with a machete and stole his cash. The Swindon Adver- tiser reports that two men travelled in a cab along Corpo-
ration Street, Swin- don, at 10.45pm on Sunday 1 March when they pulled out the blade. The pair stole ap- proximately £40 from the taxi driver before leaving the
vehicle and getting into a dark-coloured Fiat Punto which was travelling behind it. The Fiat was seen driving off towards Transfer Bridges. Police are appealing for witnesses.
CCTV IMAGE RELEASED AFTER NOTTS DRIVER ‘PUNCHED AND ROBBED’
Officers have re- leased CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a taxi driver was reportedly robbed during a job in Sher- wood, Nottingham. According to the
Nottingham Post, the victim had taken two men in his taxi to an ATM so they could withdraw cash before he was punched by a man and robbed of £85. The incident hap-
pened in Perry Road at about 9.30pm on Friday February 28. Officers released the image of one of the men captured on the ATM's CCTV cameras as part of their investigation.
TAXI DRIVER PUNCHED IN THE FACE IN RUSHDEN
A taxi driver was punched by a pas- senger who became aggressive after be- ing asked to get out of the car as the driver became sus- picious the passen- gers were unable to pay the fare.

The attack hap- pened around mid- night on Sunday, March 1, when a taxi driver picked up a man and two women from Market Square in Higham Ferrers and travelled towards Rushden.
When asked to get out the man became aggressive
and
punched the driver in the face and head before getting out and kicking the vehicle causing damage to the door panels.
