LONDON TAXI DRIVER IN HIS 80S IS KILLED IN HORROR SMASH WITH MINIBUS


This was the scene of a horror crash which happened on 29 February in which an elderly taxi driver in his 80s lost his life. The Daily Mail reports that the col- lision, which took place on the A5 in Colindale around 9pm on Saturday 29 February, in- volved the London black taxi and a large white minibus. Pictures emerging from the scene showed the twisted remains of the black taxi, which suffered extensive


damage to the front of the vehicle. The white minibus, positioned next to the taxi, also show- ed evidence of damage to the front.


In the aftermath of the collision, the Metropolitan Police said that the vic- tim’s next of kin had been informed and a post-mortem examination would take place in due course. No arrests had been made and enquiries are continuing. Metropolitan Police Barnet posted a

TRIBUTES TO TAXI DRIVER AFTER FATAL BASILDON CRASH


Tributes have been paid to a beloved family man and taxi driver who died in a crash. Essex Police have named Mohamed Mohellebi as the victim of a fatal crash in Courtauld Road, Basildon. According to the Harwich and Man- ningtree Standard, police were called shortly after 7.30pm on Friday February 21. The crash involved a white Kia Optima and a lorry. Despite the efforts of the paramedics, the Kia driver, who was identified as Mr Mohellebi, 47, sadly died at the scene.

In a tribute his fam- ily described him as a devout family man. They said: “Mohamed was a licensed Billericay cab driver for ten years, a devout family man with three children aged 14, 11 and five.


“He made an


impact on many peoples’ lives and will be greatly missed.” Police enquiries are ongoing to estab- lish the circum- stances around the crash. Anyone who has any information about the incident, particularly those with dash cam footage, should contact the Serious Collision Investiga- tion Unit on 101 quoting incident 1185 of 21 February. Spencer Kurash, 56, died from the dead- ly illness at his Chigwell home after ferrying passengers around London.
