Richard Burwood started the business in 1992 setting up in a garden shed in his family home in Preston. Still based in the city, Richard is father to company directors Greig, Kevin, Mark, Tom and Edward. Meanwhile, Richard’s grandchildren, Zach and Cailin Burwood, both work in internal sales.

THRELFALL’S FARM DAIRIES
It all started in the early 1900s when William Haworth Threlfall began delivering milk with a horse and cart. His son William Haworth Threlfall II, got the opportunity to farm the land at Rishton and that’s where it remains today, with third-generation farmer Thomas Edward Threlfall, and fourth-generation Paul Threlfall. Currently, three generations of the family work in the business. Threlfall’s Farm Dairies has sites ay Holt Farm, Rishton and Whin Isle Farm on Blackburn Road in Clayton-le-Moors.
