▲ EGWA Wines has announced another major step in its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility by switching its entire van fleet from traditional diesel to HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel. This cleaner alternative reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90 per cent, reinforcing EWGA’s mission to become the ultimate sustainable wine supply partner.


▲ LANX, the Whalley-based footwear brand has announced England rugby icon Will Greenwood, has become a LANX brand ambassador. “LANX was built on craftsmanship, character, and community, and Will Greenwood embodies all three,” said LANX founder Marco Vaghetti. Greenwood said: “LANX is a brand with big ambition and has a real connection to the rugby world.”


▲ The Vita Group, one of Europe’s leading flexible foam suppliers, has received four awards at Interzum 2025. One of the awards was ‘Best of the Best’, given to the innovative Vita Advanced concept mattress, developed in collaboration with Evonik and Covestro. The award-winning polyurethane foam was developed and created at the technical innovation centre in Accrington.


▲ Forbes Solicitors has advised on deals with a combined value of more than £160m during its latest financial year, ending April 2025. The firm’s corporate team, which is part of Forbes’ newly structured commercial division, reported trends of acquisitions, management buy outs (MBOs) and restructuring all driving dealmaking. The total value of deals the firm advised on was up 17 per cent on the previous financial year, when the corporate team supported deals worth around £137m.


▲ Napthens has cemented its place as the leading legal advisor on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the North West in the first quarter of 2025 and is now one of the top 15 in the UK. Experian Market IQ statistics show the firm advised on 10 deals in the region during the period and 13 overall in the UK. Notable activity included the sale of Raintite Trading in a deal with Swedish firm Bergman & Beving and the sale of the UFHN Group of Companies to global heating technology business Purmo Group of Finland.


▲ Begbies Traynor is expecting double digit revenue and EBITDA growth for the year ending April 30. The Preston headquartered management consulting company says that revenue is expected to increase by around 12 per cent to £153m from £136.7m. The adjusted EBITDA is also expected to rise by 10 per cent to £31.3m from £28.5m. The adjusted profit before tax is expected to increase by around seven per cent to £23.5m from £22m.


▲ Brindle Distillery has announced two of its Cuckoo Gins have been named winners at The Gin Guide Awards 2025, the world’s largest dedicated gin competition. Out of hundreds of entries from 32 countries, Cuckoo Supernova Gin once again triumphed in the flavoured gin category, reclaiming its title after first winning in 2022. Meanwhile, Cuckoo Solace Gin was the winner in the highly competitive Contemporary Gin (up to 42 per cent abv) category.

The expansion represents a significant chapter in Gofor’s evolution, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s leading mid-sized vehicle leasing brokers.


▲ Blackburn based Vital Energi has partnered with London Gatwick to advance its ambitious £250m decarbonisation programme, which will see the airport switch to zero carbon heating and improve energy efficiency. The project will work to help London Gatwick achieve net zero for its own emissions by 2030. Vital Energi will support Gatwick in a five-year contract that will see heat decarbonised in around 50 airport buildings, including the North and South terminals, engineering facilities and office space.


▲ Airframe Designs, based in Blackpool, has been working with a global prime defence contractor to create a full-scale 3D-printed mock-up of a torpedo-style weapon using polymer additive manufacturing. The mock- up provides a physical and accurate visual representation of the artifact to help the customer evaluate the loading-unloading of the weapon to a new delivery platform.
