"H came to Foundation Learning after very little attendance at secondary school. He had been badly bullied and was very quiet with no friends when he began.


Over the year he has built his confidence hugely and has become a central part of his tutor group.


H makes everyone laugh and always has a kind word for others; he has become something of a role model for his peers. As well as achieving socially, H is also achieving academically and is on track to pass his Maths, English and Vocational Skills qualifications.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?


Petroc Foundation Learning programmes are designed for individual learners who are still exploring ideas about their career pathway and may have several options or areas they would like to consider.


Foundation Learning courses are perfect for learners who may be returning to study, considering career options or looking to expand and develop their work-place and essential skills to enhance their CV or professional profile.


Throughout your chosen course, our experienced tutors will support and encourage you to develop both your personal and employability skills, building confidence and making choices about the right career path for you.


Students are given the opportunity to access and experience a variety of educational visits and group/ community based activities. At the end of your programme, you will attend personalised celebrations marking your achievements.


There are no entry requirements for our Foundation Learning programmes; however, you must be willing and able to learn and engage in a variety of vocational and personal development activities.

At the end of their course, learners from Entry to Career Skills, Career Skills and Academic Pathways had the opportunity to go to Thorpe Park for a two-day residential trip. This was a great opportunity for learners to step outside of their comfort zones and focus on sharing a fun experience with other learners.
