At Petroc, we have lots of opportunities available to enhance your student experience, supporting you in getting the most from your time at college.
Petroc and the Petroc Student Union (PSU) host an exciting array of activities, groups and clubs to develop and expand your interests, hobbies and friendship groups.
There are a wide range of activities that will help you strengthen your CV, such as becoming a Student Ambassador, a writer for The Vision newsletter or a representative of the Student Union.
You can also experience exciting, new adventures by getting involved in our Petroc Go scheme which offers work experience placements overseas. It’s a chance to travel, explore the world, build new friendships and create incredible memories.
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
We pride ourselves on being all-inclusive. We offer an exceptional range of activities and clubs for you to get involved with, alongside your studies. You will be able to meet and make new friends, explore your passions and interests and develop new skills.
Opportunities include film screenings, book clubs, LGBT+ group, sports and music clubs, social events, volunteering, eSports and DofE, as well as environmental and sustainability projects among others. You could even get your voice heard across campus as part of Fresh FM – our successful college radio station.

STUDENT UNION
Our students are the heart and focus of everything we do and by choosing to study at Petroc, you will automatically become a member of the Student Union.
The Petroc Student Union is run by a volunteer committee of elected students with the sole aim of supporting fellow learners with the many facets of college life.
You will be able to put your name forward for election to the Student Union committee if you wish and you can also get involved in our community by acting as a Student Representative or Ambassador.
All of these roles give you the opportunity to develop your skills, add to your CV and work in partnership with fellow students and our staff teams.
As a member of the PSU, you are also entitled to certain student discounts and benefits including, for a small cost, those gained through the TOTUM card.
