ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You must hold four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent (or above), including GCSE Maths and English.


PROGRESSION Upon successful completion of this programme, you will be able to progress onto one of our Level 3 Art and Design courses, in particular the T Level in Craft and Design.

ART, DESIGN & MEDIA PRACTICE


Level 3 | Duration: 1 year Brannams | FTB046


This Foundation Diploma in Art, Media and Design will help bolster your emerging portfolio and get you ready for higher education applications.


Our dedicated and enthusiastic team of industry-experienced lecturers will introduce you to concepts and artists that will inspire you and challenge the way you create, think and write about art. In a dedicated studio space, you'll experiment with materials and techniques from a range of disciplines.


Course topics will include drawing, painting, fashion, 3D animation, printing, graphics, illustration, photography and textiles.


During the course, you will cover three main units:





Investigate visual language and creative practices to become familiar with creative disciplines to support you in your specialism.


• Reflect on the knowledge, skills and practices developed in Unit 1 and define your creative ambitions.





Independently research, complete and evaluate a project proposal within your chosen professional context.


There will also be opportunities to visit galleries and exhibitions.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You must hold at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Maths and English Language. You will be expected to have passed a relevant Level 2 course or provide a portfolio of work.
