This act contains only one scene. Lorenzo and Jessica are enjoying the balmy night when Portia and Nerissa return from Venice. Not long after, Bassanio and Gratiano arrive back with Antonio.
This is a scene of light-hearted comedy with Portia and Nerissa questioning Bassanio and Gratiano about their precious rings. The play ends with harmony being restored in Belmont and the promise of new beginnings for the three newly married couples.
