A NEW HOME FROM HOME FOR HPC MEMBERS Martin Williams Founder of M Restaurants
Many Ham Members will remember my hosting events at Ham with Gaucho a few years ago. We managed to help raise some fantastic sums (and witnessed some amazing polo) on our ‘Sunset Polo with Adolfo Cambiaso’ Evenings. This along with the creation of an epic indoor international polo event at The O2 (guided by the expertise of Nicholas Colquhoun -Denvers) was the highlights of my last few years as MD of the company and I was saddened that this relationship didn’t continue.
Since leaving my former employer to create my own restaurant brand ‘M’ in 2014; I opened the hugely successful multi-faceted flagship M Venues in both Threadneedle St and Victoria St. However, I have since remained a Social Member at Ham and hankered after opening a restaurant near the club. Late last year we achieved this ambition and opened M BAR & GRILL in Twickenham.
M BAR & GRILL can already boast that it is multi-award winning! Located opposite Twickenham Station and overlooking the River Crane, we have attempted to create a new ‘home from home’ for the residents and local businesses of Surrey.
In our first local, accessible venue, we aim to deliver the usual genuine hospitality that has led to our successes to date and a new modern take on a British Bar & Grill created by our Executive Chef ‘Masterchef’ guest judge,
‘Sunday Brunch’ regular and ‘Great British Menu’ star Michael Reid. The Steaks and Roasts are the Hero products of the menu, but sustainable fish dishes and inventive vegetarian and gluten free options are also a-plenty!
Embracing local products (we even have our own vegetable garden) in both our cocktails and food menus, we very much wanted to create a restaurant that is relevant and supportive of the local community. It seems like the stars are aligned for a great summer!
