A new tournament fixture was added at Ham in 2017 for the visiting Astana Polo Team from Kazakhstan, such was the success of the competition it will become a regular event in the club’s calendar. Through to the final were Vendetta and Foxtrot Whisky. Vendetta having unluckily been in several sub finals looked ready to kick the action off and had a strong first half. This set them up well for the rest of the match with Jinni Featherstone-Witty's Fox- trot Whisky left trailing until the final bell.

In the subsidiary Astana played the Loafers team, a four goal line up of Ham 1 goal players. The Astana team fea- tured a changed line up now with a 5 goal handicap.

The first half of the match remained a close encounter with neither team able to capitalise. The match was a fast and sometimes furious spectacle between the two young teams. In the second half the Loafers pulled away a stronger lead to the visiting team. The fantastic riding skills from the Kazakhs was not enough to pull back and the Loafers ran out the winners. Many thanks go to the Astana team for visiting the Ham it was another example of how polo is a truly global sport.
