2017’s Dubai Trophy Final was played on a Friday Evening offering a wonderful chance for both polo and a party in the clubhouse. Healthcare International were scheduled to play Ham’s Jet Set and the weather set the perfect scene. Katharine Smithwick's Jet Set had polo manager William Healy, stable manager Juan Cruz Araya-Martelli alongside his brother Santiago Araya. Shane Younger fielded a familiar team of players with Fede Boudou backed up by Mathew Lodder and Charlie Tighe.
The match began and Jet Set took the initiative building a lead and from their opportunities. Healthcare International for some reason did not have luck on their side and although they produced some fantastic end to end play they were unlucky in the goal mouth. The match continued this way and in the final chukka Jet Set looked to protect their lead with Healthcare International finally closing in. They did just that until the final bell and so the silverware went to Jet Set after a well-earned win for their team in Ham’s highest handicap tournament.
