The mixed doubles tournament is always a popular tournament at Ham. The competition is a great example of how polo is played at any level with both men and women participating together. This year was just as popular with games being spread over three days with the final on Bank Holiday Monday.

The first game scheduled was Andina vs Student Beehive. Andina comfortably took the win over Student Beehive sending themselves through to the final. In the next day’s semi-final Vendetta played Braemar Farms and following an impressive performance by Jimmy Wood Vendetta qualified for the final.

In the bank holiday Monday final Andina got out of the blocks quickest establishing themselves a good lead. Vendetta stayed in the game but were unlucky with several close misses. Vendetta patron Garrie Renucci covered the pitch fantastically well belying his handicap with some great attack and defence play. Garrie’s team were not about to give up easily but Andina worked well together to maintain their lead. In the end Andina took the win 7 goals to 4.5.
