Newpor RHODE ISLAND by Garrie Renucci 2017
As the season in the UK was coming to an end, HPC once again sent a team across the pond to Newport (Rhode Island) to compete for the annual Silver Liberty Bowl on 2 September 2017 at Glen Farm, home of the Newport International Polo Series, now in its 26th Season.
On arrival in Newport, a major challenge was thrown at the team with Steven O’Kane leaving behind the team kit, creating the task of producing team shirts with only 2 days to go before the exhibition match. Scouring the internet, the uniforms were hastily made by a local lady who was delighted to get the free tickets for her and her friends to watch the match and a photograph with Sebastian, who deliberated for an hour whether to put Sebastian or Tarnowski on the back of his shirt, ultimately opting for Tarnowski, much to the delight of match commentator - the legendary William Crisp, renowned around the Polo World for his polo commentary.
The early warning signs were there for the USA team when a red helicopter landed in the middle of the field and out stepped Garrie Renucci with his Top Gun Jimmy Wood, the core of Vendetta Polo Team’s winning 2017 season.
