From a gameplay perspective, how did you ensure the game remained on-brand yet fun?

Finding the right mix involves talking to our players and our licensing partners. Press Your Luck is a good fit for slot gameplay. We only had one tradeoff to make. Te Whammy is a fun character, but in the television show it takes all the player’s money. Our players want the Whammy to be central to their experience, but in a positive way. Te Whammy became a helper albeit an impish one.

Press Your Luck Whammy Bucks and Press Your Luck Whammy Wilds were later created as extensions of the Press Your Luck Whammy Riches theme. With each new version, how do keep the essence and familiarity of the original game whilst offering something fresh?

We learn what is essential from our released products through ongoing talks with our players, customers, and licensors which informs and shapes our designs.

Finally, what can we expect from Everi at this year's G2E?

We’ll present more than 10 new original themes on our high performing Empire Flex cabinet including PowerShot Deluxe Series and Treasure Gates Series as well as the Press Your Luck Series and Fu

Blossom Series. Te Platinum Signature

Series, Crowns Diamond Respin Series, and Pay Upgrade Series will be showcased on our Player Classic Signature cabinet, the latest addition to Everi’s three-reel mechanical portfolio.

Everi has a deep roster of slot games incorporating popular entertainment brands. How powerful is the propensity for players to latch onto something familiar?

Compelling and familiar brands like Press Your Luck generate immediate interest from players. Tese games are easy to try because the player comes to it with previous knowledge. Longstanding brands may also generate positive feelings from nostalgia.

Press Your Luck is one of Everi's most successful genre-defining games. What was the background to the creation of the original game and what has underpinned its continued success?

For more than a decade, Press Your Luck has been part of casino floors in many products. Press Your Luck is part of our pop-culture and a fun game show with thrilling moments

around winning money. Our series of Press Your Luck games have delighted players with their fun bonuses and jackpots with the Whammy character connecting all these thrilling moments together, even positively working to help players win better prizes.

Press Your Luck Whammy Riches is based on the 1980s classic television game show that was relaunched in June 2019 on ABC. What were the key elements in creating the retro theme? How important was instilling a sense of nostalgia?

Press Your Luck has an established look that is retro by design. It's rooted in an ‘80s style that references its heritage. We aim to create experiences in our branded games that are authentic to the original television show, and we’ve seen that players return to nostalgic content when it meets and exceeds expectations.
