In order to learn more about the company and its inroads into some of the key markets in Africa we talked to Sebastian Loaiza Chief Marketing Office.


The company has retail operations in Nigeria, Benin and Ghana. Could you describe the scope of your operations in these markets today and the sports betting products that you offer?


Surebet247 started back in 2011 as one of the first players in the Nigerian market; co-founded by both Sheriff Olaniyan and Olasupo Badmos. Since then, it’s grown to be amongst the top five, but in terms of offline exposure (retail shops), we’re definitely among the biggest.

Currently, on the retail side, we’re in Nigeria, Benin and Ghana. Nigeria has close to 1,073 shops, Ghana eight shops and Benin has one thus far. Of course, we have plans to further grow and expand all throughout Africa.


How do you see local gaming laws developing in the future?


Te local gaming law is stable and considerate to both existing operators and new players. Te regulators are learning by dynamic of the system


and formulating laws that fits the environment, but nevertheless, they are also taking points from foreign regulators. We are sure that with more operators coming into the space, there will also be more laws to protect investments and also regulate investors.


Paysafe’s digital marketing division Income Access has relaunched the affiliate programme of Nigeria’s Surebet247 on its platform, as the company looks to expand its reach across sub- Saharan Africa. Could you tell us more about what this means for the company going forwards and how it will help the company enter new markets?


Te relaunch of our Affiliate Programme (www.surebet247.com/affiliates) has brought along an acquisition and brand awareness channel we had lost a while back; one that, as you mentioned in your question, will help us expand much faster as we’ll rely purely on a partnership set-up (revenue share), as opposed to outright marketing budgets.


Tis will enable us to open our doors to new markets without the need of extra funding or excessive efforts (at least not initially).


Tis is true for hundreds of local webmasters not properly monetising their sites yet, as well as global affiliates who are getting tons of residual African traffic, and unfortunately wasting it with EU/foreign bookmakers that can’t convert these players.
