Te National Basketball Association (NBA) and William Hill, has announced a new partnership that will make William Hill a Proud Partner and an Authorized Sports Betting Operator of the NBA in the US. As part of the agreement, William Hill will have the right to use official NBA betting data and league marks across its mobile platforms and in its sports books throughout the United States. William Hill will also be promoted across the NBA’s digital assets including NBA.com, the NBA app, and the NBA’s social media platforms.


“William Hill is a globally respected brand that has set an early standard for sports betting in the U.S. market,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, Senior Vice President, Head of Fantasy & Gaming, NBA. “We are delighted to partner with William Hill as they grow their business throughout the U.S. and are excited to work together to provide a world-class experience to our fans.”


William Hill has also announced a major deal with Monumental Sports & Entertainment to become the Exclusive Sports Betting Partner of the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, Washington Mystics and Monumental Sports & Entertainment. Te partnership will also include the creation of the first sports book at a U.S. professional sports venue, with the development of a William Hill Sports Book at Capital One Arena


Capital One Arena is home to the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Washington Wizards and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Washington Capitals. Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), located in Washington, D.C., is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports.


According to a William Hill press release upon receipt of all required regulatory approvals, the sports book will be operated by William Hill, with a full-service food and beverage offering, complemented by all of the premium sports


“Tis sports book will be a flagship venue for the industry and will serve the sports fans of the Washington D.C. area unlike any other,” said Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US. “Partnering with Ted Leonsis and the entire Monumental team was ideal. Tey share our vision and principles for bringing innovative sports betting opportunities to fans in a responsible way. Tis deal sets a new benchmark for how the industry will serve fans and how fans engage in sports.”


Te Flutter and Te Stars Group Inc merger is expected to have a huge impact on the US sports betting market. In October it was announced that the owner of Paddy Power and Betfair, is to merge with Canadian poker giant Te Stars Group to create a “global leader in sports betting and gaming.” Te combined group would have combined revenues of £3.8bn and will be headquartered in Dublin. Both groups are already making significant inroads into the US market and combined could be a true powerhouse in the online gambling space. In May Fox invested $236m for a 4.99 per cent stake in Te Stars Group. Meanwhile Flutter acquired FanDuel last year.


On a proforma basis, based on 2018 reported financials, the Combined Group would have generated 5 per cent of its revenues in the United States. However this is likely to increase significantly if the deal is approved.


Te Combined Group will benefit from “excellent brand recognition and marketing assets through the combined offering of FanDuel, FOX Bet, TVG and PokerStars. Te Combination brings together a leading online sports betting operator in the United States (FanDuel) with a high profile national media partner in FOX. Te Combined Group will benefit from a leading product ecosystem across free-to-play, daily fantasy sports, sports betting, horse racing, poker and casino to drive lower customer cost per acquisition and higher customer life time value.” Te group will have access in up to 24 states, an established horse racing footprint in 33 states. Crucially it will also have access to daily fantasy sports in over 40 states.


Te National Football League (NFL) and DraftKings Inc. has announced a partnership to make DraftKings the first-ever Official Daily Fantasy Partner of the League. Te deal includes exclusive sponsorship of the daily fantasy sports category with access to NFL branding and more across DraftKings suite of Daily Fantasy Sports products and content platforms. Nearly 90 per cent of all DraftKings customers having played in an NFL daily fantasy contest.


"Tis is a defining moment in the industry, and we are thrilled to become the first daily fantasy sports partner to enter into a formal relationship with the NFL," said Jason Robins, Chief Executive Officer at DraftKings. "Troughout our discussions with the League, it was evident we share a common vision around the future of fan engagement, and we are excited to continue on this unique journey with the NFL as our Official Daily Fantasy Partner."


As part of the agreement, the NFL and DraftKings will collaborate on a variety of content and product offerings that fans can engage with on the DraftKings DFS app, as well as integrations across NFL Media properties. Te DraftKings-NFL partnership does not include any promotional rights for sports betting.


FanDuel and NFL team the Indianapolis Colts have announced an exclusive partnership, designating FanDuel as the “Official Fantasy Sports Partner of the Colts.” Trough the partnership, the Colts and FanDuel will work to engage new and existing fans using a range of marketing assets, from in-stadium digital signage and in-game promotions to digital, radio, and TV advertising, among other branding initiatives. “As we continue to expand our nationwide footprint, we are always looking for ways to engage sports fans throughout the country, and specifically in the Midwest,” said Matt King, CEO, FanDuel. “Indianapolis is home to a loyal fan base and we’re excited to again partner with the Colts organisation, allowing us to further reach these passionate fans.”
