GLI’s Martin Britton

TransAct’s Rob Denham and Tracey Chernay TransAct goes Epic at

GLI exhibits its breadth and depth with recent acquisitions front and centre at the G2E show

In July this year, Gaming Laboratories International acquired NMi Metrology and Gaming in a deal that extends the reach of both companies in terms of clients and market scope. Te combination broadens global jurisdictional reach and enhances client services and support, with both brands existing side by side to offer maximum flexibility and choice for customers.

“For NMi customers,” explained GLI’s Martin Britton at G2E 2017, “it’s business as usual. Clients will deal with the same staff as before with zero disruption. However, behind the scenes, GLI brings its resources and global reach to enable both companies to pool resources for the benefit of the client.”

Despite having been competitors in the gaming marketplace, the actual overlap of services and clients has actually been very small. “From over 200 clients, there were only 10 that both companies served,” explained Mr. Britton. “In terms of markets, NMi has been traditionally strong in the UK B2-B3 sector, in Italy’s Comma 6a and the Dutch AWP sector, which broadens GLI’s market reach, while ensuring that commercially we’re not fighting for existing business, but instead competing for new business.”

From a customer perspective, the coming together of GLI and NMi yields the same level of choice, but clients now have the assurance of GLI’s global expertise and resources backing NMI’s focused customer services. And you can expect to see both companies at the ICE show in London exhibiting on separate booths.

Two further companies acquired by GLI over the last couple of years are Kobetron and Bulletproof, with both brands featured prominently at G2E. Success for regulators and operators begins by ensuring valuable assets are protected in real time. On the casino floor, products by Kobetron, including IRIS Enterprise, IRIS Online, Kobetron Handheld Equipment, and

Verify+ by Kobetron, streamline processes while also tracking and certifying every asset on the casino floor, all in real time.

Behind the scenes, professional services from Bulletproof monitor, detect and instantly react to cyber attacks. Bulletproof President Steve Burns told us: “In today’s digital marketplace, data and reputation are more valuable than money, and once a breach occurs, it is extraordinarily difficult to rebuild trust with consumers and business partners. Tat is why our Security Operations Center, or SOC, is always on, always scanning and always protecting, safeguarding against the constant attacks that are a part of today’s cyber landscape.”

Bulletproof, while not quite as high profile as NMi or Kobetron, is a Canada-based ‘security as a service’ company that has become a key component in GLI’s online arsenal. Te company’s ISS (Internet Security Services) services for the iGaming sector have grown substantially under GLI’s stewardship with Steven Burns bullish about the future of services in the EMEA, especially in Africa.

“Bulletproof’s been 16 years in business and has been working with GLI over the last 18 months. Te synergies of both the gaming side of the business and the sales team opening up a plethora of services on the security side, has brought real economies of scale. As a result, we are doubling our footprint in markets such as Africa,” said Mr. Britton at G2E. “And by 2018 we expect to have doubled our income, with 80 per cent of revenue from managed services.”

the G2E Vegas show At the G2E 2017, TransAct Technologies debuted its new Epic Edge TT and Epic 950 TT, purpose-built table top versions of the Epic Edge and Epic 950 TITO printers, which are designed to bring the convenience of ticketing technology to table games players, club desks and cash desks.

Te new Epic Edge TT and Epic 950 TT package a printer, internally mounted power supply and ServerPort in a tidy, compact design that is easy to deploy. In addition, thanks to their dual port capability, the Epic Edge TT and Epic 950 TT allow operators to expand the bonusing environment created by their Epicentral deployments to non-gaming device applications.

New to the TransAct team at the G2E show in Vegas was Rob Denham, who is seeking to grow the company’s footprint in the European market with a ‘direct to casino’ approach that will deliver gains for both operators and TransAct. “TransAct will leverage its facility in Doncaster in the UK to add services and repair functions to the gaming offer,” said Mr. Denham of TransAct’s plans. “TransAct offers a fantastic range of printers, technologies, services and support and I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into this role. I’m especially excited to introduce the latest version of EpiCentral system and launch the Epic Edge printer into Europe in Q1 next year, and build on the traction TransAct has already generated with its lottery printer solution.”

One of those fantastic products is TransAct’s Epicentral and Epicentral SE enterprise-level promotion and bonusing software offerings, with the latest updates, Epicentral v3.8 and Epicentral SE, allowing casinos of all sizes to easily deploy an effective tool that helps drive increased customer visitation and play. Also demonstrated at the show was the integration of Epicentral with MEI EASITRAX, a software/hardware offering from Crane Co.’s MEI Payments group that brings the security and acceptance of the SC Advance bill validator to the casino soft count room.
