Review G2E LAS VEGAS 2017
APEX gaming approached the G2E show in Vegas on a wave of US installations of both its tables gaming products and slot solutions, confirming this year’s show as the best ever for the Austria-based gaming powerhouse
Te results from the G2E Las Vegas exceeded the expectations from the APEX gaming team, who declared the 2017 show the best ever.
Te results were obvious on the APEX stand at G2E, delivering ingenious solutions across a large variety of applications. DRAGON EGG continued to be the talk of the show – just as it had been when first released at this year’s ICE. Tis all-in-one jackpot system is designed to appeal from all angles and consists of eight APEX slot machines in two banks of four. Te fact that the integrated jackpot system can offer up to 16 jackpot levels over its four main pillars means that every type of player can choose the jackpot level according to his/her playing behaviour.
“DRAGON EGG has truly landed in the States, Canada and Latin America,” noted Kubilay Özer, Global Sales Director of APEX gaming. “Players in North and South America can look forward to playing DRAGON EGG soon as we have a strong order book following G2E.”
Building on the success of its linked progressive, DRAGON EGG, APEX showed an early build of its second theme at the G2E show in Vegas, Leonardo’s Code. “We have the second theme almost ready for release, with a third game scheduled for launch at the ICE show in London next year,” stated Mr. Ozer. Te themes follow the same pattern as DRAGOn EGG, with a four level jackpot with the Grand prize available as a wide area jackpot, with the remaining three jackpots local.”
Describing the impact that DRAGON EGG has had both in the marketplace and within APEX, Mr. Ozer explained that while the team knew that the product was destined for success, the interest generated from the ICE show in February had been spectacular. “We anticipated that DRAGON EGG would make a big impact in the market, but the international reception to the product was beyond expectations,” said Mr. Ozer. “Te fact that the entire solution is software based, with no hardware required, means that operators can even add their own advertisements to the top box. It’s the perfect solution.”
For electronic roulette, APEX offers a far- reaching solution, APEX PLAYER STATION. It can be connected with up to four roulette wheels (both automated and/or live) and EVO games are also compatible. Te APS is available as an entire solution and flexible with separate electronic wheel and terminals.

APEX gaming hatches the perfect solution for US operators with iDROPs and DRAGON EGG
G2E Las Vegas was also the setting for a world première from APEX gaming: the iDROPs. Te iDROPs takes the capabilities of the iDROP even further. Not only can cash and tickets be accepted directly at the live gaming table – and winnings returned in ticket form – the acceptance rate of these banknotes and tickets has increased to an amazing six notes per second. Dealers can enter notes in a bundle of up to 250 at a time and the iDROPs handles the rest. Te iDROPs is SAS approved and integrates simply into the casino management system.
Managers have instant information on the iDROP contents. Every note and ticket is securely checked and accepted – there is no room any more for any loss to the house.
“We are enjoying huge interest in APEX’s products both in the North American gaming markets and in South America,” said Mr. Ozer. “We have spent the last three years fully integrating the iDROP into the American market with operators who have realised the full potential of this solution. Here at G2E we are releasing the latest iDROPs. We have been listening to customers and responded by
increasing the speed of the iDROP, with the new product able to read six banknotes in a second, something that’s demanded at the VIP tables here in the US.”
APEX offers a wide choice of gaming machines – from upright, slant and VIP with its Pinnacle slot machine family. Furthermore, APEX gaming has further table game solutions, including the Shuffle King shufflers.
“Our thanks go to everyone who came to see us on our stand in Vegas. Te compliments we received prove to us that we are indeed true to our company philosophy of taking gaming to the next level. We look forward to strong establishing APEX gaming on the American continent,” concluded Mr. Özer.
Building on its success in the US, APEX is now looking to the ICE show in London and to further market expansion, with additional team members joining in the near future and new products growing the portfolio. Mr. Ozer also revealed that the company is pushing into Australia with its iDROP solution, but we’ll hear more about that in the New Year.
