Prediction Markets WLA Position Paper
Te World Lottery Association (WLA) has released the Position Paper: Prediction Markets: Unlicensed Betting by Another Name - Treats to Sports Integrity, Consumer Protection, and the Lottery and Betting Sector. Te paper calls for urgent alignment between gaming and financial market regulators to close regulatory gaps and ensure prediction markets are subject to the same licensing, integrity, and consumer protection standards as betting, and calls for a functional, substance- based regulatory test.
SYNKROS deployed with Carnival Supplier News
Konami Gaming has installed its SYNKROS casino management system on a second cruise line in the world’s largest cruise company Carnival Corporation’s portfolio. Building on the success of its systems installed across Holland America Line, the company has outfitted all 29 Carnival Cruise Line ships with its award-winning system. Leveraging SYNKROS, known internally under the acronym “SURF” for “Serving Up Rewards and Fun”, guests across the Carnival Cruise Line fleet can now tap into personalized rewards, offers, bonuses and cashless wagering in the onboard casinos.
Sport Betting Germany’s black market
According to the German Sports Betting Association (DSWV), the 2026 Football World Cup will be the most important event of the year for the German sports betting industry: Te association expects bets of almost one billion euros in Germany, but a significant part of this will be made with illegal providers. DSWV estimates, around €600-700m of the expected World Cup bets will be placed in the regulated market. Another €300-400m, on the other hand, could end up with illegal providers.
Vanderpump hotel opens in Las Vegas Land-based gaming
Television personality and restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump has officially opened Te Vanderpump Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, marking her first venture into the hotel sector and expanding her long-standing partnership with Caesars Entertainment. Te 188-room boutique property opened on 11 June and features a 40,000sq.ft casino, the recently launched Gigolo lounge, and Te Bar at Te Vanderpump Hotel. Designed by Vanderpump and designer Nick Alain through Vanderpump Alain, the hotel showcases her signature “industrial romantic” style, blending bespoke furnishings, British-inspired design elements and personalised touches throughout the resort. Gaming up 20 per cent at SBM Operator News
Monte Carlo operator Société des Bains de Mer (SMB) hit new highs in 2025 with revenue growing by 12 per cent to €861.6m, driven by strong activity during the summer season and remarkable activity in the gaming sector. Operating profit increased by €12.1m to €86.6m, up 16 per cent. Gaming revenue of €259.6m, an exceptional increase of 20 per cent, as a result of an increase in gaming volumes and a particularly favourable risk for table games, despite the rigorous application of

compliance rules, and an increase in gaming volumes for automatic machines, hotel revenues up 11 per cent to €443.1m, driven by an eight per cent increase in the accommodation business thanks to strong growth in average daily rates, and an 11 per cent increase in the restaurant business.
