In July 2025 the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur) announced that Paraguay is positioning itself as the fastest- growing tourist destination in the world, with a 53% increase in international tourist arrivals during the first quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year. Tis was revealed by the UN Tourism report, which placed the country ahead of major tourist destinations such as Brazil (48%), Chile (48%), and Vietnam (30%).
