This report on Armenia was researched and written entirely by a human, G3’s Karen Carter, not by artificial intelligence. That distinction is important. Karen personally compiled the data,

conducted interviews, reviewed official sources, and applied her extensive knowledge of gaming markets to build a detailed, balanced picture of Armenia’s gaming and economic landscape. Her human perspective ensures depth, accuracy, and context, qualities that no AI-generated text can truly replicate.

As part of the effort to tighten regulations and curb gambling addiction, the National Assembly also increased state duties for operators starting in April 2025. Te initial draft bill

proposed an additional 10 per cent turnover tax on gambling operations, but this provision was later removed. Te Tax Code currently provides for profit tax only in respect to gambling activities, which is calculated at a rate of 18 per cent.

fees for online gambling and sports betting have doubled, with a commitment to further annual increases over the next couple of years via a quota-based system.

Te legislation was presented by MP Hayk

Sargsyan of the Civil Contract Party in a bid to raise an additional AMD13bn ($34m) in state funds. He has said that channelling more funds into the Armenian economy could boost the GDP by 10 to 15 per cent and state revenues by seven per cent. Tere was some concern over the plans, with

some fearing it could destabilise the industry. Te ministry had already made some changes in 2024 to impose taxes on large gambling wins over AMD5m ($11,900). Under the new system, online casinos and

betting operators will pay higher fees after they reach a specific threshold. So if an online casino accepts bets up to AMD100bn or a betting operator AMD50bn they will make additional payments.
