Great Canadian Entertainment is set to significantly reduce its land-based casino presence in British Columbia following an agreement to sell its casino operation in Coquitlam to the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Once completed, the transaction will leave the operator with just two casino properties in the province. Since June 2024, Great Canadian has sold or announced the sale of seven of its nine British Columbia casino. Te group, founded in B.C. more than 40 years ago, expanded nationally with casino operations across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, but has now prioritised asset sales in its home province.

Aristocrat Leisure and Light & Wonder have agreed to settle their pending litigation in Australia and the United States which Aristocrat brought following the launch of Light & Wonder’s Dragon Train game, which Aristocrat contends was developed using Aristocrat’s trade secrets and copyright works. Aristocrat later made similar claims against Light & Wonder’s Jewel of the Dragon game. While the specific terms of the settlement remain
confidential, the parties can confirm that Light & Wonder has agreed to compensate Aristocrat US$127.5m in respect of the claims for misappropriation and infringement of its intellectual property in Dragon Train and Jewel of the Dragon. L&W acknowledges that certain Aristocrat math
information was used in connection with the development of both Dragon Train and Jewel of the Dragon. Light & Wonder has agreed to permanently cease commercialisation of these games globally and to make best efforts to remove existing installations.
Wynn Bridge halfway through build Operator News
Te US$5.21bn Wynn Al Marjan Island resort has now completed all structural works for its hotel/casino buildings whilst advancing with Wynn Bridge, a landmark link that will connect the resort via Wynn Boulevard to all major hubs in the UAE. Rising to 283 metres across 70 floors, the tower
has reached its highest structural concrete point. When its spire is installed in 2026, the tower will reach 352 meters, becoming the tallest man-made structure in Ras Al Khaimah. Wynn Bridge is a 548- metre landmark link that will connect Wynn Al Marjan Island via Wynn Boulevard to the E311 and E611, creating a seamless route.
