RESORTS WORLD SENTOSA 2.0
THE PROJECT A US$5bn expansion has got underway at Genting Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa as the property looks to reenergise its appeal to international tourists. Dubbed a ‘mountain’ of lifestyle experiences, the huge project features a waterfront promenade, a four-storey retail and entertainment complex, along with two luxury hotels adding 700 rooms to its existing portfolio.
Te centrepiece will be an 88m-tall light sculpture and an ‘immersive, experiential mountain trail’ that will take visitors up to a ‘summit with panoramic views of the Greater Southern Waterfront and Singapore’s Central Business District.

each year through to 2030. Te company opened two new attractions in 2025, Minion Land at the Universal Studios Singapore theme park, and the Singapore Oceanarium, which replaced the integrated resort’s older S.E.A. Aquarium.
Resorts World Sentosa will “be ready” when Singapore’s Gambling Regulatory Authority considers its casino license renewal in 2026, the company’s CEO Lee Shi Ruh told CNBC. In 2024, Singapore’s gambling agency announced it was renewing the integrated resort’s casino licence for two years, instead of three, citing “unsatisfactory” tourism performance.
By completion, Resorts World Sentosa will feature around 2,300 hotel rooms, an enlarged aquarium, two theme park areas, and enhanced retail, dining, and nightlife.
