HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO ATHENS


Location: On the Athens Riviera in Greece, on the site of the former Hellenikon International Airport Casino Operator: Hard Rock International Estimated Opening: 2028


THE PROJECT A €1bn luxury integrated resort combining a five-star hotel with 1,000 rooms, an iconic 200-meter tower, a world-class casino, expansive entertainment and MICE facilities, and retail/dining attractions. Te casino will be just under 161,000 square feet with 200 table games and 2,000 slot machines.


Te hotel tower (inspired by ocean waves and Greek sailing motifs) will exceed 1,000 rooms, making it one of the largest in the region. A rooftop Sky Terrace with pools and restaurants

will crown the tower. Te resort will feature a 3,000-seat Hard Rock Live theatre, extendable to an outdoor lawn amphitheater with 7,500 additional seats for festivals and concerts. It will also boast 120,000 square feet of convention space including large expo halls, ballrooms and meeting rooms. Te architecture blends modern Vegas-style grandeur with Greek cultural elements – open-air gardens, water features, and vistas of the Acropolis and sea are integrated into the design.


WHAT'S THE LATEST? It is estimated that the Integrated Resort Complex in Te Ellinikon will welcome around 10-15,000 visitors daily in 2028, when it will begin operating. Te development on the former airport site, created by the GEK Terna – Hard Rock consortium, has a budget of €1.8bn and is currently under construction.
