Te Osaka prefectural government released an updated development plan in September 2024, confirming that the total investment has increased to approximately US$10.24bn.
Te enhanced plan also includes improved transportation links, including an extension of the Osaka Metro Chuo Line to better connect the island with the city center, and upgraded disaster resilience measures.
Te integrated resort remains on track for opening in 2030, which is expected to coincide with the post-Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 tourism surge. When completed, MGM Osaka is projected to attract 20 million visitors annually, significantly boosting the regional economy and positioning Osaka as a global destination.
